The Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) is pleased, once again, to celebrate and support our graduate students by presenting our 4rd annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition and Graduate Student Research Conference on March 15 and 16, 2018 in the GSA Commons.

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an internationally recognized research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland in 2008. The 3MT® is a unique competition that challenges thesis-based graduate students to present their research and its significance in only three minutes, with only one PowerPoint slide, in language appropriate to general audience. Due to its success competitions are now held around the world.

The 3MT® and the Graduate Student Research Conference are designed to share and celebrate the outstanding research of our dedicated students and to provide students the opportunity to showcase the importance of their work. This celebration of research offers an invaluable opportunity for graduate students to compose and present their research in a way that engages the academic community and refines the quality of their work.

Graduate students interested in participating in this year’s 3MT Competition and the Graduate Research Conference must submit abstracts that are no longer than 500 words. The online application will be available soon on this website.

All 3MT participants will be competing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes at the local level, and the winner will secure a spot at the regional competition.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s 3MT® and Graduate Student Research Conference!
