Health & Dental Opt-Out Deadline: To be determined for 2027/2028 school year.

Eligible GSA members enrolled in the Health Plan have access to Alumo’s Legal Protection program, The Essentials, at no additional cost.

It includes legal consultations on questions such as housing, employment, immigration and criminal law; document review and advice; and representation for qualifying housing, employment and disputes with an academic institution.

The GSA has an in-house notary service at the GSA Commons. Representation has conditions and exclusions, and the service does not extend to dependants. See what Legal Protection covers and how to request support.

For the September 1–August 31 plan year, adding one spouse/partner or one dependent child to Health & Dental coverage costs $712.76 in addition to your own plan fee.

Adding a spouse/partner and any number of eligible dependent children costs $1,425.52. Shorter coverage periods have different fees.

Family add-ons must be completed during the applicable Change-of-Coverage & Opt-Out Period and renewed each plan year. Check current fees and add family coverage.

Registered postdoctoral fellows are not automatically covered by the GSA Health & Dental Plan, but may be eligible to enrol themselves. Visit the GSA Commons or contact the GSA Operations Manager at GSA.admn@usask.ca and GSA VP Finance at GSA.Fin@usask.ca, during the applicable enrolment period to confirm eligibility and enrol.

You must have provincial or equivalent primary health coverage. Enrolment cannot be processed after the deadline. Read the enrolment information or contact the Plan Support Office.

You may use the eligible provider of your choice, but Alumo Network members offer extra savings in addition to insured benefits.

In Saskatchewan, participating dentists offer an additional 20% reduction on eligible services, calculated using the provincial dental fee guide.

Network discounts are also available through participating pharmacies, vision providers, physiotherapists and massage therapists; offers and conditions vary.

Find a network provider and check current offers.
